Without noticing, I skipped updating the weekly contest blog for three weeks. Recently I was busy with graduation and onboarding. During the graduation trip in the middle, I even rarely skipped both a weekly contest and a biweekly contest.

This week counts as my first week after joining Amazon, and my global rank surprisingly reached 74. Thinking carefully, the last time I entered the top 100 in a weekly contest was Contest 243, roughly a month and a half ago.

I finally graduated, and the graduation trip that had been planned for a long time was officially put on the agenda. Because we had to wait for my girlfriend to finish her exam, and I also had to come back before onboarding, preferably with a few days left to rest and buy furniture, my girlfriend and I only had one week to travel. We went to three places in total: Linfen, Shanxi -> Wuhan, Hubei -> Suizhou, Hubei.

The purpose was roughly to meet my parents and visit my girlfriend’s grandmother, whom she had not seen for ten years.

I continued to maintain good results, especially on the last problem, which was still quite hard. At the beginning I had no idea and even wanted to give up, but in the end I still solved the difficult problem through my own thinking.

This afternoon I arranged to have dinner with Cruel Coding East God, a strong player with a 2700+ rating. He did his undergraduate studies at Zhejiang University and is doing graduate school in Canada. This summer he came to Beijing for an internship at Megvii, so we had a chance to meet offline.

Because I went with my partner to a Spartan Race today, I got up before 6 a.m. and spent the whole day outside.
Before the contest, I thought I would rest a little and planned to sleep for 20 minutes. I did not expect to be that tired; when the alarm rang, I turned it off myself. So I was more than 10 minutes late. Otherwise my ranking could have been higher. The problems were neither too easy nor too hard; overall this was a well-designed contest.
