My Investment Story (II) 2023
It has been two years since the previous post, My Investment Story (I). During these two years, both my investment philosophy and my investment results have improved greatly. Here I summarize and share my investment story from 2022 to 2023. Original blog post.
The most important change is that after five years of investing, I finally turned losses into profits.
International Macro Environment
Because of two years of unlimited quantitative easing during the pandemic, commonly known as “massive money printing,” US stocks reached an all-time high at the end of 2021. Then in 2022, inflation in Europe and the US was high, and the Fed stepped in with tough rate hikes. In one year, rates went from 0 to 5%. There were multiple 75-basis-point hikes in between. One cannot say it was slow.
